Introductory Geomorphology

This course provides an introduction to the study of landforms and landscapes with an emphasis on process and on the effect of varying environmental conditions. Topics include geologically controlled landforms, weathering, mass wasting and slope development, the effects of runoff and stream flow, alpine and continental glaciation, periglacial phenomena, and humans as geomorphic agents. A mandatory one day field trip will complement material covered in lectures and practical assignments.
